Diversity
Phil Frisk has a passion for art, all kinds of
art. At a very early age he
exhibited an interest in drawing and painting.
He was given art lessons and art supplies to
encourage this interest. He has
explored the art mediums of oil, acrylic, pastel, batik, sculpture,
photography and computer graphics but watercolor remains his favorite.
Watercolor offers the greatest versatility in expressing mood and motion in
his paintings. He has studied under nationally acclaimed watercolorists
and continues his education in this most challenging medium.
Award Winning Artist
Phil’s varied background gives him a vast
variety of interests and subjects to paint. He employs a bold, direct
approach with translucent pigments to bring out the natural glow of the
medium. He enjoys utilizing many special techniques of watercolor
painting such as wet into wet, pouring, salt and other effects to enhance his
paintings. Landscapes and nature settings are frequent subject matter
for his paintings. His work has been included in collections across the
country.
Paintings Available
Phil and his wife, artist Judy Bert Frisk,
produce and market their paintings as well as a line of limited edition prints
and greeting cards. They have presented the prints in a variety of sizes
and in some innovative approaches. Phil does all the matting, framing,
shrink-wrapping, photographing and printing to market their finished products.
Phil’s work may be seen at his studio in Grand
Junction, in galleries and at Summer Art Festivals throughout the Rocky
Mountain region.
